Iran rejects Israel’s plan to annex zones of the West Bank (www.plenglish.com)

Tehran, Apr 26 (Prensa Latina) Iran confirmed on Sunday its rejection of Israel’s plans to annex zones of the occupied West Bank, stressing that it is a flagrant violation of international law, Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said.
As stated by Mousavi, this illegal initiative is part of the so-called deal of the century advocated by US President Donald Trump and considered as an attack on West Asia’s peace and security.Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former rival, Benjamin Gantz, signed a coalition agreement that contains a clause establishing the annexation of segments of the West Bank occupied by Israeli settlers, starting on July 1.

Mousavi condemned that the Tel Aviv regime is taking advantage of the world’s attention to the Covid-19 pandemic to carry out this illegal step.

The Iranian spokesman called on the United Nations and other international organizations to prevent Palestinians from being expelled from their territories annexed to Israel.

Iran reiterated that the possible solution on the future of Israel-occupied land depends on a referendum with all residents, and then the creation of two autonomous states with East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

Meanwhile, it was reported that as many as 200 retired Israeli generals, admirals and military chiefs, as well as 149 prominent American Jewish personalities and 11 congressmen, considered in a document the negative results of such action.
