Miss Universe Exec Cries Over Accusations

Former Miss Universe executive Nawat Itsaragrisil has faced significant backlash and was reportedly dismissed from the pageant following allegations of verbally abusing Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch. Itsaragrisil allegedly called Bosch a “dumbhead” after she declined to participate in a sponsorship shoot. When Itsaragrisil demanded security remove Bosch, a reported dozen Miss Universe contestants staged a walkout in protest, prompting Itsaragrisil to demand those wanting to continue the contest remain seated.

Following the controversy, Itsaragrisil expressed his distress, breaking down in tears and stating his investment and best efforts to ensure fairness. However, the controversy reflects ongoing challenges within the beauty pageant world. His comments suggest that the increasing demands of social media and daily postings create difficulties in managing contestants and maintaining fairness, although this doesn’t excuse the alleged treatment of Miss Mexico. The current status of the Miss Universe organization following this incident is uncertain, though such controversies frequently lead to organizational restructuring and policy reviews.
