Newborn’s Adorable “Wave” Steals Hearts Leaving Delivery Room

A heartwarming video circulating online captures a newborn seemingly waving to the camera while being transported through a hospital. The twins’ grandmother, who shared the video, expressed her astonishment, saying, “These new babies built different…My grandsons arrived and baby A waves at me and he was only a few minutes old. It’s such a blessing. I was so shocked and in disbelief.” The grandmother’s sentiment reflects the wonder and joy often associated with the arrival of a new baby.

While the gesture is undoubtedly precious, experts suggest that such movements in newborns are typically reflexive rather than intentional. These involuntary movements, often called newborn reflexes, are a normal part of early development. Reflexes like the Moro reflex (startle reflex) and the grasping reflex are well-known, and spontaneous limb movements are also common. Regardless of the cause, the video serves as a reminder of the profound emotions and captivating moments that accompany new life.
