Iranians in France: a history

France has been an exile capital. Khomeini lived at Neauphle-le-Château in 1978. Royalists, groups of the left and the People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran, based at Auvers-sur-Oise, followed after 1979. Paris has Persian bookshops and a Persian cinema scene.
